Arcana Sweden
Since 1996, Arcana have been one of the leading bands in its genre. Peter Bjärgö (then Pettersson) started creating the music of Arcana in 1994 and continued up until 2018. The last concert of the band was in Wachau ruin, Leipzig, during WGT 2018. What the future will bring, we do not know. But we hope you will stay as a listener, even though new music might not be released under the name Arcana. ... more

The first Dark Ambient album I’ve ever listened to, and the one that made me love this kind of music. As always raison d’être doesn’t disappoint, and makes a good mixture of Gregorian chants, and the industrial sounds that set up a dark and complex atmosphere that makes me listen to it no matter how much times without getting tired.

This might be my favourite of Heilung. They've improved a bit on their later releases but their debut is still much meaner, and darker. Maria's amazing voice obviously steals the show but I also quite like Kai's too, especially on the live performance. In fact I'd say get LIFA over this IMO. The spoken word bits are really cool to hear proto-germanic in use but for relistening purposes they are going to be a bit obtrusive. Nevertheless the proper music here is on continual repeat for me.
